- Critical coordination/planning: all M/E work had to be designed so that construction could take place above an existing L&D Suite and adjacent to existing Cath Lab #1, while allowing continued provision of healthcare services;
- IAQ Conscious M/E: meet ICRA protocol;
- IAQ Conscious HVAC: Hospital-Grade, Double-Wall AHU System;
- IAQ Conscious HVAC: Activated Charcoal pre-filtration/treatment for AHU Systems;
- Energy Conscious HVAC: system design allows maintenance of pressure relationships, during Aunoccupied@ hours, at reduced air volumes;
- Emergency Cooling: 100% Astand-by@ chiller;
- O/M Amenities: duct heating coils, zone filters, zone terminal boxes and control valves were located outside of Catheterization Suite, in MER;
- Design/Documentation Clarity: rigorous determination of connections to existing M/E utilities, including close coordination with hospital O/M Staff, helped to simplify and expedite project delivery;
- Electric Service Power Quality: close coordination with Angio-Diagnostic equipment vendor helped expedite equipment set-up procedures;
